Model 1893 Shotguns

The Winchester Model 1893 Slide Action Shotgun, designed by Browning Brothers, was introduced in 1893, and was manufactured until 1897, with approximately 34,000 produced.

The Model 1893 action proved to be too weak when smokeless ammunition was introduced. This design flaw was corrected with the introduction of the Winchester Model 1897 Slide Action Shotgun.

12 Gauge, 2-5/8” chamber only, 30” and 32”, full choke, Damascus and rolled steel barrels were standard. A Riot Gun with a 20 inch rolled steel barrel was also available.

Special features include fancy, checkered, walnut stocks.

Original Winchester factory records are available for this model from the Cody Firearms Museum in Cody, Wyoming, from serial number 1 thru 34050.
